After looking over r&d’s options I might go with just a 90cc but not fully decided. But as for the other guys. I’m not sure on the turbo motel without looking but it’s got stock down pipe and the waste gate isn’t hooked up.
if the pump was turned up 6 flats, it would pour out black smoke.
i am assuming you still have a full, probably stock exhaust under the truck.
a 3 inch turbo back exhaust will make a big difference. pass through or no muffler will make a bigger difference.
a properly tuned engine will give just a very slight haze of smoke out the exhaust at full under load throttle
The truck doesn’t blow a hole lot of smoke but there is some so I’m assuming it’s not all the way up but the truck as the truck down pipe with a 4 inch straight pipe

Have you called Justin at R&D yet? I called wanting to upgrade my 84 NA just a bit from stock and he helped me immensely. Takes the time to talk to you about what you want to build, and then helps you pick the proper parts for it. He’s a huge help. I’d strongly suggest calling him and seeing what he has to say.
Is this the kit you have? If it is the ats version, you already have a 3" down pipe, which is as big as they get. 6 flats sounds bogus, usually you only get 3-4. Would for sure start with basic diagnostics. Look for exhaust leaks before the turbo, check turbo shaft play and that it spins freely, check that the wastegate is actually closed and not just bypassing the turbine.
Okay I’ll definitely have to give him a call then. I’ll look at the waste gate and see if I can do anything with it. I don’t have the ats setup. Mine just says ford turbo

Ok, so thats not aftermarket, thats a factory turbo kit. Same as the 093 (the pic) with the exception of using the smaller outlet and crushed downpipe. Its not as restrictive as you think though, Justin still made 240whp i think it was with the factory turbo kit and 90cc. I could be wrong, been a minute since i watched his dyno vids. If you dont know about them, check out RacinNdrummin on youtube. Check for rust holes in the crossover pipe and soot trails at the connections.
Okay I’ll definitely do that. But another question. When you go to turn the pump up all the way will the screw max out and stop turning or is it sum you have to worry about taking out to far

It'll just bottom out, generally it's pretty tight to turn, but you'll know when it's all the way because it won't budge anymore at all.
Okay thanks. And I’ve never done it amd I know there’s several videos on YouTube that I’ve watched but is there any like do’s or dont’s when doing that
Its a pain to get to, 5/32" allen, it is very stiff. I would back it off to start so your familiar with how tight it is, then go till it stops. After it stops ive always come back just a smidge, wives tale or not, idve heard from a few of the long gone old timers on this board that you dont want it hard bottomed.
