My 2019 F-450 XLT, though the owner's manual stated had LED backup lights, seemed to have incandescents. They seemed extremely yellow and dim right from the start and made it very difficult backing up with the mirrors (the AGC of the camera helped a lot). I had purchased some Fog Light pods from Diode Dynamics and really had great success with them. I received a discount coupon a few weeks back, so while perusing their site, I spotted their backup LED replacement lamp series. Bingo! Ordered their "7440/7443 - XP80 - 510 Lumen LED Lamps", shipped... installed today... took all of 20 minutes to do both sides (and the stock bulbs were indeed incandescent, btw). Got the driver's side in correctly - had to pull the passenger bulb out and reverse the polarity on it as it wouldn't light up! 50/50 isn't bad, I guess - there are no markings on the lamps for +/-! Here are two before and after shots in front of my garage for comparison... very telling! $90.00 for the pair BUT, well worth it back down my dark driveway!!!
Nice. Did you need to use the resistor kit when installing it, or did you just swap bulbs?
I haven't noticed any flickering or errors so (crossed fingers), no I didn't order the resistor kit. I needed them on my 2008 F-250 on ALL four corners - the directionals barely worked wo/them!
Reverse light bulbs don't require a resistor. Turn signal bulbs require a resistor to place enough load on the flasher relay to get it to cycle so that they actually flash at a correct speed.
Very nice side by side comparison though. I will certainly look into these.
Only downside to using brighter reverse lights is it washes out the rear view camera already more than the halogens do. Little harder to see the trailer tongue over the hitch ball.
It really brightens up the screen shining in your eyes when you go to look out your passenger mirror.

You're right about the camera AGC - it really over drives that, but I have no problem with my mirrors, at all!
45$ a bulb, ouch. That's getting pretty close to "worth their weight in gold" territory.
I just installed a pair of 3600 lumen back up lights in the bumper and while it does wash out the back up camera to an extent, the massive increase of rearward visibility is worth it. I wired mine up to an upfitter so I can turn them on when desired. I don't necessarily want them coming on in parking lots whenever I put the truck in reverse or row through the gear selector. They are blindingly bright when looking at them directly. These plug and play lights look like a good add-on though. Just wish they were a little cheaper.
So they are simple plug & play for reverse lamps ?
Yes, direct Plug & Play - pull the stock incandescent (or LED bulb) out of it's socket, plug these in, in place of them!

Yeah, they're pricey, but worth it to me! I have some LED Backup Light Modules that I had on my F-350 that were wired into an Upfitter switch and mounted below the rear bumper on my rear truck camper mounts, but decided I'd rather have these instead!
