I assume your truck has composite headlights not the sealed beams? The correct LED replacement bulbs should work just like the halogen bulbs and not produce excess glare.

i might just have to try it if I can’t find a better headlamp. My pick up is Japanese, has amazing light. Lights in the van are just terrible.
Yeah it's interesting how our perception changes. I don't remember having any complaints about the headlights in my fathers '86 E350 (sealed beams) back in the '80's or my '90 F150 back in the '90s, I actually thought they worked pretty good back then. But the bar has been raised with HIDs and LEDs and now anything halogen sucks in comparison, the headlights in my '11 E250 Superduty are much better than the sealed beams in my old '06, but I think I will upgrade them to LED anyway because they look dim after driving our SUV which has separate low beam projectors and high beam floods. The trick is finding the correct LED bulb for your application, apparently the better bulbs now have an adjustment collar that allows the bulb to rotate for optimum positioning with the reflectors.
. Properly aimed, they have a good cut out. My van is 4x4 and about 5" lifted from stock and I do not get any flashes form oncoming traffic. Light output is great.
