So the rear passenger lock on my 2009 quit working. I put it on the list of things to address at some point, but have just been leaving it locked. If I need in there, I can reach back and manually unlock/lock it. But now I noticed that the rear passenger power window doesn't work either. So I was thinking a wiring harness to that door was messed up...
...but the window still works when controlled by the driver's control. Any ideas or suggestions on a troubleshooting path? I obviously don't want to buy parts that aren't needed to fix this.
i just double checked that, since it would make sense that the driver could still operate it. But the driver control won't lock/unlock either; it only makes the window go up and down
I changed the door harness in my brothers 2011. It took less time to install than to repair the multiple wires cracked and broken.
ya I was looking at a new harness (or 2, since the other side will most likely have this problem eventually). Is the new harness redesigned at all? Or is it just going to do the same thing in 4 or 5 years? Maybe I could reinforce it a bit...
It didn't look any different to me. Ford should have offset the door to cab holes more. That would have allowed the harness to twist as well as bend instead of just bending in one spot.
My 09 does this every couple years, and the wires broke again last month. I just leave the door locked, its a pia but I can work around it till I get the time to fix it. I've been meaning to price out a harness from the dealer, I'm running out of material to splice too lol. Maybe a guy could buy a new harness, and then solder in an extra inch of wire?
