Exhaust

I have an exhaust bolt broken off on the passenger side header. How hard would that be to take off with having to take off all the heads and intake manifold? Also have any of you installed the performance exhaust system LMC sells? If so how hard is it to install and what goes into installing it.

Well you really should only have to take off one head at most, but a lot of times you can rethread stuff while it’s on the engine.


Include your year and engine size, approximate broken bolt location, bolt size, and maybe a picture and we could probably help a lot more.

Start by soaking all the exhaust bolts on that side with PB Blaster or other good penetrant (a 50/50 mix of acetone and ATF also works well, just don't get it on a painted surface.) Do that a few days running, then unbolt the header on that side enough to slide it 1/2" or so away from the head. Try to lock firmly on the broken off stub with some newish sharp vice-grips. Turn the stub... work it BOTH ways to break the threads loose from the rust. Once you get some movement, try backing the stub the rest of the way out. When you replace it, use a good anti-seize on the threads prion to installation.You appear to have enough of a stub to try this before getting drastic with dropping the head etc.
