Problem after 6.0 oil cooler replace HELP PLEASE!!!
2003 f250 6.0 powerstroke with egr delete. I drove this truck in my shop just fine. Customer told me it needs oil cooler replaced. I replaced the oil cooler very clean reinstall all went smoothly. I turned key on for 30 seconds and off 3 times like they say. Took forever to get running but when idling smoothly if I put it in gear it will not accelerate/move at all. It also has poor throttle response even in park when letting off throttle after revving, the engine stumbles but does not stall. I have checked all tubing and clamps, elec. plugs all are clean and plugged up good. Injector buzz test shows codes p0264, p0267, p0273, p0282. When cranking over IPR is showing 40% on snap on souless <-- lol. it will start right up when cold but after warm it will fire back up but shut right back off. Could clogged IPR screen cause this issue??
That's injectors 2, 3, 5, and 8. All are comming from the center connector of the FICM. I would check first if the pins or sockets are arc burned at that location, as the reading indicate a loose FICM connector.
Gee, it sounds like you know more than we do, not sure why you're coming here.
Your right I do know a lot I've been a mechanic for 25 years. I don't normally work on these powerstroke diesels and I'm having issues! So I give the info I have and hope someone can help. At least I'm pretty sure thats how these forums work.
no the codes are for cylinders 2,3,5,8 injector circuit low. two on one side two on the other. FICM was never even unplugged
You are off base on your post above IMO ...........
Read up on the 2004.25+ and up FICM design. It doesn't have to be a connector (or plug), it could even be the logic board itself.
2,3,5,8 share a low side driver and 1,4,6,7 share a low side driver. The wiring follows this pattern also.
Lastly, an injector short to ground on the low side could produce four different cylinder error codes as well.
Almost certainly there is a 2004.25 + FICM (4 pin) in that 2003 engine.
