Strange door lock issues?

The passenger front door will some times refuse to unlock. All 3 of the other doors and rear gate unlock just fine. Remote, keypad and switch on drivers door wont unlock it. If you pull the interior door handle it will open. It has been random with this morning being the 4th time its happened. Its just that one door and when it happens all the others work fine. I have left it in the locked state with out pulling interior handle and a few hours later it will just unlock like normal. Is there an issue with water freezing in that door for some reason? The dealer is crap and I will just get a no problem found as is always the case.

Latches freezing up has been a problem since the aluminum body trucks first came out with the F150 in 2015.

Ford really dropped the ball on the door handles. They are about the cheapest looking/feeling design I've felt.

What year? There is a FSA on water intrusion causing the latches to freeze. I had it done to mine, just as preventative. Others have reported issues with locks also.

I know there is a recall on the 17s at least. The dealership wanted to do all 4 doors but I am only having a problem with the driver side rear door lock. They said they will only do the repair once. So I am waiting until the last possible date to see if I develop a problem with other doors. I really do not want them to touch the other doors because they could cause the issue in the those doors and then not repair them under the recall (because they only want to do it once). I found I was having more problems if I sprayed water directly at the door handles while washing. I no longer do that and it has significantly reduced the door lock issues I was having. .

Not to mention pulling the other doors opens up "other" things that could happen.

Welcome to the aluminum body F series. I've had countless door lock issues with F150s and super duties. It seems to happen when it's above freezing and raining one day and the next day it's below freezing. I just carry a ratchet strap in my truck to keep the doors latched when they open and don't latch
