Pulling the intake off a 2005 Ranger 2.3 and can't figure out how to release the clips that hold this hose on. I poked around a bit and didn't want to risk damaging anything...
Don't know for sure, but it looks like if you gently pry upward on the white tab with a small screw driver, it will raise fingers that lock the hose to it's connection.
Yes..I agree with Ranger Pat...I've got a 92 2.3L and I haven't had to do this recently..but as best I recall the little white plastic device
is the "locking tab" so to speak..pull it up and it unlocks the connection
push the white part down about 1/16" then pull the connector off. (unless the connector is oriented up-side down, then reach underneath and push up)
the white piece has an oval shaped hole going around the nipple, pushing it down causes a lip to clear the raised ring on the nipple.
the white piece has 2 small tangs on the bottom that push it upwards to the locking position.
to reinstall just push the connector on, the white piece simply snaps over the ring on the nipple and locks the connector on.
the white piece stays inside the connector.
