encryption

Hi,
I like to have some moderately sensitive stuff in a moderately secure location -- that's also easy to get to and use. .I had just started using Windoze built in encryption on W7 that just lets you lock up folders and whatever is inside of them. This continued to work when I changed that PC to W10.
Unfortunately, I bought a laptop with W10 home -- which doesn't support encryption. I tried a USB flash with encryption, but it's clumsy as it only works through an app. I COULD upgrade, but I'm not sure that the simple encryption is actually supported by W10 premium. It might just be something that was in W7 and the up to W10 supports it, but it might NOT be part of W10. I know that they talk about bitlocker which seems to be pretty heavy duty, and I'm not sure if it will allow simple searching through encrypted folders etc.

So if anybody knows if simple encryption still works -- or has other simple options, please let me know.,

Thanks,

hj

If you upgrade to Win 10 Pro you get BitLocker encryption as well as BitLocker encryption to go for use with thumb drives.

This link might help you understand how it works. https://www.zdnet.com/article/window...out-bitlocker/
