We left all our old trucks in Oregon, neither my youngest or myself want to bring them out this way tell we got a house. We were more interested in finding a project out this way. My son has been looking on Craigslist and Facebook, I looked at vehicles for sale here. We like old Ford trucks of course he thinks old ones are from the 80s as well (out here from what I have seen he might be right).
Where in Cleveland? There are a some 57 to 60 Ford trucks around, but you rarely see any for sale. I have my own collection of projects that keeps me busy.
I can tell you that here in the desert, they are getting harder to come by. In just the past 10 yrs. They do not come up for sale like they used to.
So if you have them back in Oregon better go get them when you get settled in.
after 32 years I will be retiring from the US Coast Guard in 3 years and plan on returning back to Oregon after this tour. Didn't want to ship a vehicle both ways of course with the salt back here on the roads it might be better to bite the bullet.
Welcome to the area. I'm in Parma. I take my truck out as much as possible, this year was tough. Do you belong to the ATHS? We have 2 local chapters up this way. NEO chapters of the ATHS, and the Black Swamp chapter which is the western end of Ohio. There is also a local Magazine called Cruisin Times, which lists various cruise ins and events for the year. If you search Craigslist in Lexington Ky there is a 60 F350 flatbed for sale. Ad doesn't have good pics. I can see patches on the bottom of the fenders. Unless you might be interested in a car. A buddy of mine has a 1941 Ford 2 door coupe project. 292 Y block in it. Car sat dissassembled for 20yrs in a garage. So yesterday he bought a 1948 convertible that is driveable. So the 41 might be looking for a new home.
Hello Clay. I almost never visit this forum, but bumped into you tonight by accident. I have a Coast Guard truck you might appreciate seeing. The paperwork transferring ownership from the CG to my dad went through the 9th District in Cleveland. My dad was stationed in Sault Ste. Marie and retired in1958. He acquired this truck as he was leaving the service:
Good luck searching for a project, and thank you for your service.
