Looking for more tire options for my 78 f250. Specifically 35" x 10.5" sizing. Impossible it seems to find for the stock 16" wheel. Will the 17" wheel off a newer super duty fit? Bolt pattern? Or does anyone no of that size tire for a 16" wheel. Thanks 😊
The super duty is a metric pattern and it won't fit any other pickup.
The stock wheel would have been a 16 or 16.5 in 6 or 7" width. 16 x 7 stock wheels are easy to find of 80's vintage vans and pickups . I don't think you're going to get any 35" tall tire on a 7" rim so you're going to have to go aftermarket and those are everywhere.
In a 16" size, if they are still available then a 255/85-16 is just about exactly what you were looking for in that 35x10.50 size.
I have an older set of Dunlop Mud Rover tires on my '79 and they are slightly taller than my old 35's (at 33.5") and slightly narrower than my 11.50's (at about 10.75").
From what I've seen in the spec sheets of old, not all 255/85's were created equal (go figure, just like any other old flotation size) but there's no reason they should not be close.
If you want something that is exactly 35" tall as measured though, you'll need to find a more appropriate one.
Interesting too that you have 16" wheels. I meant to ask if you were sure they were 16's and not 16.5's instead.
Like 440sixpack was saying, I thought they came with 16's too, but all the ones I've ever looked at myself all had 16.5's instead.
