7.3 peculiar electronic issue
When truck gets warm, the idm cuts out. You can set a minute and buzz test it and the injectors will
come back little by little. Say, after 5 mins 1-4 will fire. Maybe after 10-15 mins they will all fire again.
trying to decide if it’s a Pcm issue or idm issue. Any thoughts?

When doing a buzz test, the PCM will send signals to the IDM to fire the injectors. The PCM can be registered through the tachometer movement, and the IDM is registered through the buzz sounds. So watch the tachometer when doing the buzz test to see which it might be.

good one! Didn’t think to look at tach and when I tested it. We will try it tomorrow and I’ll post

Don’t forget about rocker cover gasket electrical connections!! If they are bad (external or internal) electronic testing is going to be compromised , I would check these first, before going further.
