Okay, so I recently put 40x15.5R26 tires on 26x14 rims. I also re-geared axles to 5.13.
on the tire website (Ironman) it states they have 522 revs Per Mile. The truck is off about 13 mph roughly and shifting points are completely off...
the equation that I heard was:
RevsPerMile x ToneRingTeeth / 8000
the real question is, (it might sound dumb) how many ToneRingTeeth does the Dana 60 axle have? And do they change when you put new 5.13 gears in them?
If it's the stock rear end in an OBS 250/350 it's the Sterling 10.25. The tooth count on those are 120. The tone ring is the same regardless of the gears you swap in as it's sandwiched in between the ring gear and the carrier.
yep, 10.25 in front with 5.13 gears and Dana 60 in rear with 5.13 gears.
so if the tone ring is 120 then i’m assuming my equation is not right because I just did the math and imputed it in, and it is not where it should be... do you happen to know the equation?
