Question about compatability

Hey guys. This is my first post here. I appreciate all the help y’all give. Anyways, I have a 1980 F-100 Custom that I’m working on getting back into shape. It needs a new front bumper, tailgate, and bench seat. I’ve been looking at junkyards and have found a few good finds. I know the 80-86 f-series tricks are pretty interchangeable with the front bumper, but would a 1978 f-150 front bumper fit? Would a 1985 f-250 bench seat fit? What about a 84 f-150 tailgate?
I really appreciate it. I’m sure this is all elementary, but it’s new to me.

as a rule you should be good to go from 80-86 and maybe more but the F100 can be a pain when sourcing wheels, axles etc

The tailgates will fit the hole, but the hardware can be different. You have to drill some holes and change some things around. The early tailgates had straps. The later ones had chains. And some of the latch mechanisms changed. It will fit though, you just have to work with it a little bit.

Chances of the 78 bumper being compatible with your 80 F100 are slim. If possible measure carefully the bolt centers on your frame and the prospective bumper.
