Just got my truck Friday after waiting what seems like forever. ran my electrical wire down the the passenger side floorboard. I then Installed my Builtright bracket and all went well I discovered that the capped off wires on the passenger side footwell does not go to the up lifter switches don't feed to there but to the passenger side of the engine compartment. Can I snag Power off of one of those wires on the inside passenger side wheel well? If not where does a guy drill through the firewall without bucking something up? thanks for your help!

I ran power from the extra battery on the driver side thru a rubber plug that is in the driver side floorpan, just in front of the seat. I removed the scuff plate and the kick panel. I used a small drill bit to put a hole in the plug, just big enough to get the wire thru. I then put in an inline fuse up under the dash. By removing those plastic trim pieces, it allows you to lift the carpet up to access the plug. Please don't try removing the pieces with the truck interior cold, if you have to, turn the heater on in the truck to warm it up, then remove them. Hope this helps!
I put a fuse tap on #35 (extended power restraints module) on the fuse panel behind the passenger kick panel. There's a bit of extra room off that fuse plug and the exit out the back of the fuse box is right there. And it's only hot when the ignition is on.
You can either use one of those pass thru stubs you found and add some wire to get to the upfitter pigtails or there’s a 5 amp source in the customer access bundle behind the passenger kick panel. On my 18 it’s pin#2, green wire/orange stripe. It won’t be switched with an upfitter but it’s only hot when the ignition is on.
