Is it possible or worth it. I found out part of my problem of it having a 3000 rpm idle a blown head gasket or two. The truck was using watery and blowing white smoke. Now it is a winter project.
So you fixed all the missing /damaged vacuum hoses and it still runs at 3K rpm? I’m finding it hard to believe that you have bad head gaskets causing it to run that way. You have confirmed coolant in the oil; oil in the radiator or combustion gasses in the radiator? How did you come to this conclusion?
I have seen a thread or two where people have rewired the engine harness to have a remote ICM. Is it worth it? No. I have put hundreds of thousands of miles on several trucks with the distributor mounted ICM.
All thevacume lines are good and so are the coolant lines. I reved up the engine to pull someone out of the ditch and it blew the radiator cap off. I checked the idle air motor it is fine the throttle body was plugged with sludge, it is clean now. Didn't help. Plus a big cloud of white smoke is a give away.it has to be a bad sensor or the timing is off
