My truck is a 1988 F-250 with 351 CID and automatic transmission. I have been unable to identify the tranny type from reading the posts here. The certification label code for the transmission is "K". Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Now that I know the tranny type is a C6 maybe someone has had a similar problem that I am having. None of my manuals (Haynes) show this symptom in their troubleshooting procedures.
The tranny will not up-shift when in the D position. Both 1 and 2 positions work fine. The fluid level was low, but bringing it up to level did not solve the problem. I checked the vacuum modulater and it held 25 lbs. Vacuum from the engine is good as tested at the modulator. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
clogged tranny filter perhaps - happen to my mom's old Buick -tranny fluid read full on the dipstick but the filter was clogged so it wouldn't circulate and the tranny wouldn't shift above 2nd while driving.
