What in the world does a "high flow" cat do? What company makes one to replace the 2 that are stock on my truck (1995 4.9L) the first one has a 2-1 reducer and the second is a big ##### cat with 3" pipe combining the 2, how much money would this run me? I had my cats tested and they work perfectly, but its technically legal to change them because truck is more than 5 years old, and has 116k miles on it (requirement is 50k right?)
basically I want to know if I'd feel any gains from a single high flow cat over the duel cat stock setup i've got
Contact Summit racing at 1-800-230-3030, that is where I bought my High Flow Cat kit. Mine was an entire kit which bolted staright up to the exhaust manifold. No welding required, you can do it in your driveway. I think mine ran about $150-$170 I'm not sure on how much it was, after all it was over 2 years ago when I bought the system.
When you call them ask them if they have a "Direct fit Catalytic Convertor Kit" That's what I bought. It's a single cat / High flow unit. Trust me, mine ran 100% better after I installed it.
