Park/E brake components/ part numbers

First post, hope this is the right spot, and sorry if I over looked previous post with this information. But can not find current numbers or answers.

recently purchased a 86 f-250 6.9 IDI that had a ZF5 swapped into it. love the truck, has a few issues that needs attention. But first I’d like to fix my E/Park brake.

would appreciate numbers for following parts.

The pedal is completely shot.

missing equalizer

missing all cables ( rear LH and RH, intermediate, and Forward)

Was curious if anyone had the current part numbers for all these. (Any numbers would help even Dorman) I did find an old thread with old cable rear cable numbers but brought up for a 90’s something f-350. I apologize if this all has already been addressed but can not seem to find it.

side note; LMC website is not working for me at all, for whatever reason. I tried there first.

thank you in advance!

Try this link. Not sure where you are going to get some of this stuff though. I never have had to replace the front pedal assembly. I have replaced the rear cables on every truck I have had, the parts stores carry those. I usually make my own equalizer parts. You can buy cable and cable clamps in the hardware store.

Brakes - Gary's Garagemahal (the Bullnose bible)

P.S. Parts for a 1996 and below should still fit your truck.

Franklin2,

Roger that, I greatly appreciate it. And yea I was trying to find quick “bolt on” parts but probably wind up fabricating something up if I can get the cables. An E/park brake is a pretty simple concept just have to make sure the adjustments and tension are right and “locking” or ratcheting mechanism to engage it works. I would expect and aftermarket foot pedal or even lever would suffice or even any one really if I can fab a sturdy bracket up...

but thanks for the link! I’ll definitely look into that.

Lots of places to source e brake cables. If you use amazon put your trucks model and year in their search engine and you will see pretty much what's available. Sometimes manufacturers reference ford part numbers.

Also ebay is a source and try Rockauto.com

These cables and other ford brake parts are widely available from many sources.

The only thing that will be an issue is the pedal assy. as that would be dealer only or used, no one sells them like the cables & adjuster.
Now for some reason I think there was a post on the pedal assy. not being the same for all model trucks but Gary's link should have that information.

According to Gary's link the e brake pedal assembly was universal to light trucks 80 to 89. That gives you a few more model years to look for at your friendly neighborhood pick n pull.
