CNG -> LPG Conversion Requirements?
CNG -> LPG Conversion Requirements?
I am considering purchasing a 2013 F250 CNG truck.
I'd like to continue with CNG, but no CNG stations are nearby.
I've done a few searches and found the option of converting it from CNG to LPG (LPG stations are available).
The question is: What is required to convert it from CNG to LPG?
It has a 6.2L "FlexFuel" engine that the seller claims to be CNG/LPG compatible.
I've read that the CNG tank can hold LPG fine (not the other way around, though).
So, I'm thinking it would require changing the regulator, the filling port and possible the jets, but thought I'd ask some experts.

I am NOT an expert but as I understand it because the CNG is held at much higher pressure you need an additional pressure regulator between your tank and evaporator, I am not sure if you'd have to remove this to switch to propane or not. As far as your tank goes I am not sure if the valves are designed to work at the low pressure either. My truck (which is new to me) is set up to run on propane and I did some poking around to see if I could run CNG. You could try to contact Nash Fuels, they sell the tri-fuel conversion kits. Sometimes the CNG fueling stations are members only and not well advertised. CNG is more popular for fleet use than public sales. You could also try finding a CNG distributor and checking with them for advice as there might be a fueling station they know of.
Also there is an alt fuel section on this site where more people who know might frequent.
