When I had my F150 I really liked the Sync 3 8" display when using Android Google Maps and the backup camera. My 2017 F250 only has the 4" display but I've come across 4dtech.com that sells conversion kits. I don't think I'd really spend the $1900 for the conversion but I'm still wondering if anyone out there has done this conversion. Is there a cheaper way to do the conversion?
I’m in the same boat too. I’ve been researching these. I just ordered an Alpine w/CarPlay since I couldn’t part with that much $$. I think the 8” upgrade kits are all “recycled” units too, aren’t they? Not refurbished but, like factory take-offs? I don’t know.
On the F150 forum the user Livnitup upgrades the F150 screens, ask/pm him about the Super Duty's;
He has been phenomenal on his contributions to the free software upgrades available to us! https://www.f150forum.com/f118/forsc...-truck-348987/

It can be done for cheaper but you`re still going to be in the 1K range.
You can also go to an aftermarket head unit that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and you can do this for well under 1K.
There are tons of units that will work, on Crutchfield. The dash kits and interface options are expensive but necessary ($200-$300). None are direct factory replacements (4DTech) but many of them look “stock-enough” IMO. The one above looks great - Pioneer, I think?
When I look on the Crutchfield site I can't find anything that works with a 2017 F250. Does Alpine or some other manufacturer have a 2017 version?
You can`t trust Crutchfield so don`t use them as an end all be all source for aftermarket equipment fitment.
Contact you local car stereo shop or call or go online to SoniceElectronix. SonicElextronix will get you squared away for a good price. You will need a dash kit for any aftermarket head unit.
I talked to Crutchfield and they enlighten me on how to correctly search for my vehicle. Yes, there are plenty of units for the 2017 F250. I think my only issue now, besides spending the money, is that I would loose the rotary dial radio *****. That is a big deal for me because I much prefer the ***** than the buttons on the wheel or on the new unit.

Yes, you`re out of luck. No double din aftermarket head unit will have the double ***** like the factory unit.
