I called Midfifty this evening about 5:30 eastern time to order one 56 hood bolt and one wave washer. Diane answered. She laughed and asked why just one bolt. I explained. Then she said I can't buy just one wave washer I gotta buy a set of four. I said I guess it won't break my bank account!
Anyhow she was bored and we talked awhile. She was working from home. Then she said you've been buying from us for quite awhile. I said I fixed up my 54 in 1998-99.
I said how is Sy. She said Sy retired. I asked who's running the business. Her son? Diane said her son is retired too! She said her (Diane's) daughter is running the business.
She talked how the business has grown . And now they deal with 48-52 trucks! And she doesn't like that! LOL!!!!
Then I told her about Truckstock. She thought that was cool. I told her how we had two 48-52 trucks drive to PA from Wisconsin.
So Sy is retired. And Diane's daughter is running MidFifty! I didn't know that! My bill was $12.45.
Sy was a wealth of knowledge. I hate to see her go. MidFifty has been a constant for our hobby and hope that their service and support continues. Thanks for the update Abe.

As I recall, Mid Fifty took over for Classic Haulers while I was still working on Betsy. I guess they were sister companies anyway, and just combined the two into Mid Fifty. I remember I received some parts from Mid Fifty that I ordered from Classic Haulers.
Actually Diane's daughter has been taking care of things for quite some time. I frequently visited both of them through the years. My list is getting smaller, and it's been a couple of years since I've been there. Both are fantastic and the customer service I have gotten from both of them is top notch. And if there was a problem they made it right.
