Stacks

Any thoughts of running stacks on an IDI, and what size is the exhaust piping from turbo and back

3.5's on my 79, 3.5" single is good enough for the typical IDIT, more is better regarding deeper sound. Surely hope youre not planning to cut holes in the bed or some other silly thing.

pointless really especially if you use the bed.... I can think of many other things to spend money on.

I'm not against a free flow exhaust system.

do you need a snorkel and an exhaust for Fording streams or rivers then maybe I can agree.

IF it is because you think your PU is like a semi then folks will just Laugh at you.....

is this what you want ??????

To me, stacks mean someone whose old enough to get a drivers' license but childish enough to pretend he's like driving one of those BIG twucks that bend in the middle and go psssshhh when you hit the brakes, but whatever turns you on.

Some Clown here in town has a Dodge diesel dually and his twin stacks got to be 8" diameter, so there's always that.

I did it. 3.5 from turbo with 5" bullhorn style. Thought it was fun. I dont use my truck as a daily driver though.

are those riding along the outside of the bed, that’s beautiful, and coincidentally the exact look I’m hoping for but on a 1990

Yea, they come up where the steps should be (my 77 didnt come with steps) and mount to the bedside. I think people that hate stacks are just jealous personally, because they sound so ****in great. That said, i wouldnt tear the pickup up to add them, and the way most people do them is utterly tasteless. My 79 started as a dream / idea i had when i was about 7 because of our "little diesel". Forever and ever it was going to be an 1160/3208 in a 62 one ton that used to be my dads... Concessions were made, but still a badass pickup that gets plenty of looks and offers.

Used to be a guy on here who lived in Boise that had a silver and blue 93 with 4" on it, really really sharp pickup.

I think a set of lake pipes is more sexy and can sure sound sweet too.

Personally I try to keep the noise down. my old Pan Head is loud enough

1160 Cat (predecessor to the 3208, 10.4L 225hp @2800) and a 5+4, sing it does, loudly and proudly. It will for sure make you deaf, but its worth it. 3.5" stacks if anyone was curious. One of the few toys we have left on the farm, I have hopes of using it to tow my car trailer someday.

Does this count as a "truck with stacks" ??

Most of you were not around when Chrysler came out with "LIL RED Express PU" back in 78/79

Stacks on a Steps Side look good.

Yeah I know not a but you get the idea.
