Thought I'd share a few picks from this last week when I pulled my 59AB out. Check out that transmission! Rebuilt that thing when I was 17 years old with my brother. Haven't ever shifted it into gear. Time to get going on this baby!
When I bought the parts to rebuild my 8ba I bought them from Red's Headers. He supplied Best brand gaskets. They worked fine. Not sure if they were any better than the FelPro gaskets I used in the past on my flatheads. I really think its a matter of personal choice. I've used FelPro gaskets since I was in HS with never a problem and I probably would have used them again but Red's supplied Best gaskets so I went with them.
I haven't noticed much difference between gasket sets. I do like copper head gaskets with cast iron heads, on the other had I have friends who won't use them.
