i saw them on trucks tv . i was wondering about them too. i cant find anything out about them because i can't remember who makes them. if you know the manufactureer could you tell me their name
I am perty sure they dont sell them for Ford like they do chevys(Panel) I have seen them for sale online and at auto stores , but there bulbs i figure there just as good even tho those chevy one would be cool but its all about chevys know wich is ok but barly any ford stuff cept mustang and then mopar fans complain and it all chevy and mopar now....but back to those LED's any one have them...?are they worth it..?
check jegs and summit, I've seen them in there before. Also some towns laws will not allow them and the police will ticket so check your town or state.
I put some in my 65 mustang and then took them right back out. They didn't put out much light unless you were right behind the car and at the same level as the light, then they were really bright, but from the side or above, they were pretty dim. They might work pretty good in a pickup where the light housing is up in the line of sight. I'm going to try them in my 72 F-250 4x4 as soon as I get a chance.
I saw them on Trucks tv too, looks cool. Also, pee on the cops. If they have nothing better to do than to write someone up, (in a classic truck) for having too bright of taillights when there are stupid ricers with blue and red neons under, inside, and outside their car then somethings really WRONG.
Do a search on "LED tailights" on the internet and you'll find lots of info. The older LED's had a problem with poor visibility at angles but the new ones are much better. As for being illegal I think that is changing to. Most big rigs, buses and construction equipment are going to LED's because of their low power consumption, waterproof and extreme durability. I like them and I'm building a set of custom signal lights and a custom rear light for my old Kawasaki KZ1000. I'm also going to be installing LED map lights and courtesy lights in my Ford. I'll go custom for those to. They do have direct LED replacement bulbs for standard auto applications. I don't know if that's what willowbilly3 was talking about or not.
Bought a set at AutoZone for my '72. About $18. Just plug em in. Look a little better than stock and flasher works a little faster. Also had replaced my tail lens from *** trucks.
Autozone carries LED tail lights and from what ive seen is they work pretty good and as far as the LED Bulb set up i like them works great on my 88 Van soon the be in a 69 truck.
