So, I just purchased a 2017 f150 super crew with 6 ft bed. I noticed that any full turn (turning to end of steerting capacity) results in a vibration or slight bouncing of the truck. Additionally, the turn radius is not very good. I’ve read a review of a 2015 f150 where they confined the below average radius so it is what it is. But the bouncing or vibration doesn’t seem like something that should happen.
I have a 2013 Tahoe that doesn’t do this so should I be concerned? I had the wife turn the wheel while I watched and I could not see any rubbing.
is this normal behavior? This is my first Ford truck and first full size, so not much to compare it to.
You either have a 5.5' bed or a 6.5' bed. My truck has a 6.5' bed and the turning radius is awful. You get used to it though. There shouldn't be any vibration unless your truck has somehow been put into 4 wheel drive, in which case turning on dry ground has that kind of affect.

thanks for the quick response. I’ll have the service department take a look at the vibration. Truck drives fine outside of that.
It also will depend on the tire tread type. Some All-terrain tires have more of an aggressive tread edge that is more like 90° than rounded as in a passenger tire.
I have the same truck (6.5' bed) and it's turning radius is dreadful and that's being kind. Shame Ford didn't put some effort into that aspect, that aside mine does not vibrate when turning, but like JK said, 4wd on dry will cause that.

yeah, tbh I didn’t even think turning, but I definitely took it for granted. But I love the truck. I keep it in rwd mode.

You have aftermarket wheels. Do they have the proper lug nuts and are they torqued to 150 ft lbs? The tire size if the same as factory, so that shouldn't be an issue.
I also have the supercrew with the 6-1/2 foot bed (4WD as well). All of those things contribute to the awful turn radius. I often joke that I need to call ahead to make a U-turn. You do get used to it though.
That all said, we do not have the symptoms you are having (outside of the turn radius). I'm with JKBrad, that I suspect your aftermarket wheels are suspect.
Thanks fellas. I didn’t think about the lugs. I just assumed the dealership checked all that with their whole CPO program, but I should know better. I’ll check that out tomorrow.
I’m surprised they did CPO with aftermarket wheels. I believe those are drilled with 12 holes so that they will fit both 6x6.5 and 6x135 lug pattern trucks. Dual pattern wheels are much weaker in the hub areas, so check for cracks too.
Trust me, the turning radius is no better on a 2WD Screw with the 5.5 bed.
I must be missing something. So far I haven't had a complaint about the turning radius. U turns are not a problem. But then again I am about the only one around here that does NOT have a zero turn mower................
