I'm an analog person trying to live in a digital world. I didn't use most of the features in my '17 XL 5.0 but have upgraded to a '20 XLT 3.0 PS and haven't had much luck accessing and using most of the features on SYNC3/FordScan/FordPass. Don't even know what function go with what system. The only thing that the owners manual does is put me to sleep when I try to read it. About my only success is being able to use my phone hands free and start the truck remotely using my phone. Sure would like to be able to use the onboard navigation system but can't get it to accept a destination. At 72 I find it hard to learn new technology.
Don't feel bad, I'm a bit younger than you, pretty decent in the digital world, and find the Navigation VERY unfriendly. I use Google Maps all the time, I only got the Navigation for that 1 time I'm in the wilderness and the navigation satellite might work better than cell phone signal, and I doubt that ever happens.
Other than Navigation, is there anything that you don't understand with your truck? We will be happy to make it as simple as needed

One thing is certain, the salesman that sold you the truck will be of no help. Even the dealers can't keep up with all the changes.
I don't know what to tell you. I'm 70, and I've been building, repairing, and programming computers since I was 20, and it is all second nature to me. My wife likes to say that I intimidate computers, because when I walk into a room where there's a malfunctioning computer, it will suddenly start working. I think they are like dogs; they can smell fear.

I had my own version of that, most of my Navy career I was a flight engineer on P3 Orion aircraft. Part of my inflight duties was to try to coax malfunctioning electronics back to life. The method I used was to kick the crap out of the errant black box until it came back to life or was broken so badly that the tweets actually had to fix it.
