I have a new to me 2008 f350 lariat with dual image control. I am very familiar with blend door issues from my many f150’s.
Please before you lecture me, I have been searching forums for 4 days.
I experienced issues with the passenger side only throwing heat. No matter what the temp setting. I have cracked open the dash and replaced the blend door and attempted to recalibrate.
If I start the temp at the lowest setting it’s good.
if I move up 1-3° it gets warmer.
drop the temp again and I gets cooler
If I move the temp up to maximum it gets hot
If I move back down to cool, I won’t go down
if I slightly raise the actuator it tries to move to hotter and then the door moves to cool
When I reset the controller the actuator swings to hot and cold.
it seems that the calibration is not working. I have tested all the wiring and it’s fine. I have tried 4 new actuators, 2 from Ford HD 2 from dorman.
to this end, it seems that the hvac controller is at fault.
I had the same issue with my Taurus with dual zone climate control last year. with it, I had to remove the climate control fuse in the inside fuse panel for a few minutes for the system to reset itself, then put the fuse back in.
I should add, when you remove the fuse and wait at least 1 min., turn the key on,the HVAC module will recalibrate the actuators and that takes about 30 sec.. turn the key off, reinstall the fuse you removed, then turn the key back on and wait 30 sec. before verifying correct blend door operation. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the tip. I did try it. No love. I have a replacement control unit coming. Will try that next week.
