I recently had a tail light burn out on my 2011 F150. I replaced the bulb (twice) and checked the fuses, but could not get the thing to work! I have it in the shop for other issues, and the mechanic told me it "throws a code" when a bulb burns out, and he cancelled the code and all is well. Is this true? have we "progressed" to the point where we can't even change a bulb without taking it somewhere?
Based on the little I've worked with ForScan, yes it does throw a code. But I can't imagine it not clearing/resetting once a new bulb is put in. Yours being an earlier model complicates things tho. The computer crap & ForScan became more encompassing and flexible in 2014/2015.
Yeah, I watched him clear the code and it worked perfectly! I was getting the "Hyper Flash" inside, but the passenger rear would not work. Took him about a minute to "fix" it....
