2018 V 10 knock Sensor

I have a 2018 FR 3 Motor home with Ford V10 engine. Need to replace knock sensors under the intake manifold. Anyone?

How do you know those sensors need to be replaced?

Have you pulled codes? If so, what are they?

Can't get to them as they are under the intake manifold. Took to Ford dealer but they want to keep RV for 2 weeks. I need to use it next week.

So....how can we help if the manifold has to come off........?

Knock Sensor

Just wondering how hard it is to take the manifold off. Dealer seemed to think it was to hard for me to do myself. Need to know what to whatch out for during the removal. No instructional videos on U-Tube.

Take pictures at each step. Keep things in order. Bag and tag fasteners. Avoid disconnecting anything electrical if possible. Tag and code connections when you must separate them. Don't remove things you don't have to.

You may need tools for fuel lines.

Best I can do.

If it's still under warranty leave it at the dealer and rent another MH, or go to a hotel, or plan a Staycation. I would not turn a bolt on it if under warranty.

Whether this job would be difficult for you depends 100% on your past mechanical experience along with your tool selection. There should be more than few YouTube videos showing this operation.

I do wonder if that year V10 would have an aluminum or plastic intake? If plastic I'd carefully inspect the coolant cross over fitting, perhaps even remove it to reseal where it fits to the intake.
