Lately, after cruising along at highway speeds, when I let off the accelerator and coast, the transmission bangs into 7th or 6th (not sure which) as the truck downshifts on its own. I reported here a few months ago how my truck won’t move when cold for the first few seconds. Dealer finds no issue. Could this be related? The downshift issue is more prevalent now, but I’m betting taking it in, they’ll say “issue not replicated “. I haven’t seen many 10-speed issues lately. Thoughts?
Smokewagun, back it the old days the mechanics use to say "let it develop" when they couldn't fine the issue. I hope that's not what they tell you. I'm no help here but good luck.

Well, the general powertrain is warranted to 60,000, and the 3.0L to 100,000. Frankly, I will likely ride it out until
it becomes too troublesome or is obvious. If not by warranty, I’ll make a decision then.
I assume this is NOT in sport mode? That is just about the only time I have that issue, every now and then at very low speeds like under 20 I'll have some harsh downshifts in "normal" mode as well. I've made it to 90K, did have the tranny flushed around 50K. Didn't make a difference either way. Never had any non moving issue when cold though either.
My story, worked for me....I am not recomending this...this is what worked for me.
The first 2500mi on my truck I drove it back and forth to work over a mountain pass.
i got some hard decelereation down shifts with a bang.
Most concerning were full throttle downshifts one downshift, ok you could here it lugging, and the bam another downshift with a bang.
I figured well this is not right its under warranty, So I figured if it was going to break so be it.
I got on it in consecutive days days a few times going up the pass got a couple more very hard downshifts under full power.
It has never done it again up or down, best working tranmission I have ever had..its a learning transmision..I taught it a lesson, worked for me.
Theres a ton of issues with the valve bodies on these. You most likely have a valve sticking. However, some of these have a PCM reflash at the dealer which is supposed to help.

All the shift modes available work differently.
No one ever says what mode they are using.
Only shift perceptions they feel are not normal.
Not saying there is no trouble but it's important. to know.
For example the ECO mode and wet/snow modes are very different.
I use them for better fuel mirage because they skip gears I don't need and up shift at lower speed I don't need in normal driving. It saves gas.
I see 22mpg with driving while watching the Mpg display to keep the green waterfall as high as possible.
When I refill at the same station all the time, it shows using 91 grade.
2018 5L.

Sorry I have been out. Thanks for the comment. I will be taking it in next week. It has only gotten worse. Now, if I shift to neutral and then to park, it banks. Weird. Dealer said he’d check for a program update.
