SRW Hubcap Removal

2020 F-350 SRW CCSB 20” wheels. Did my first tire rotation last night; it was my first encounter with the hubcaps. Not much room to get to the hubcap notches inside the wheel dish so didn’t attempt to pry off for fear of breaking them. Anyone have any tips or specific tool recommendations for removing them?

I used a large flat head screwdriver and they came right off.

I use my custom Craftsman hubcap removal tool, also known as that incredibly large screwdriver that nobody actually uses as a screwdriver.

The hub cap tools have been pretty common for the last couple decades. If your not going pro buy the steelman version over the snap on.

Use a little more force. The tire change kit has a hub cap removal tool in it, in case you didn't find it.

If you have a spare paint lid removal tool, put a larger hook on the end and it will work well. A larger hook like in the picture below.

I use a small pry bar. I wrapped it with vinyl electrical tape to keep it from marring up the wheels.

I just use a brake spoon, with a rag.

Fits the notch in the cap perfectly!

My dad found a great way to remove it. Use it as a step to get in the bed of the truck... it’ll come right off.

It goes on the opposite side of the plate from the brake fork.
