Praise Report!
2001 F250 7.3 Auto. Suicide doors, Long box 245k
Yesterday I got in the truck to head to lunch (had not started in a couple days) and right away I could tell it was running rough, popped the hood and checked around but didn’t see anything out of the normal, so I took her out anyway. Getting up to speed was really hard, sluggish and shaking pretty bad!
Then the SES light came on so I limped it home driving slow to start with but if I took it out of OD and kept it above 45 it smoothed out.
Took it to my local garage the next day to get the codes read and it came up with P0284 (Cylinder 8 Contribution/Balance Fault) among my heater plug/fuel bowl/ EBPV etc. etc.
So I took it home and pulled the valve cover and viola! The under side harness was halfway unplugged! So I took my quarter (2017, because that’s the year this country had the greatest president since good-o’l George himself
and ground off just enough to take off the top of his head and slipped her in there and she runs like a top again!
Now it’s time for the other side! I’ll be replacing injectors soon so I will replace the quarters with new gaskets! I was going to go with the Dorman pigtails.
Would y’all concur?
And thanks to all y’all, giving your knowledge free of charge I am able to keep my old truck running strong and hard!
Have a Blessed one!
Matt
