Im planning on replacing my instrument cluster bulbs with LED's on my "69 truck. When i look on Amazon, there is an issue with reverse polarity bulbs. Does anyone have a source that has worked for them?
Thanks Al
I will say - don't replace the Alternator light with one of these. Use the regular old-school bulb for that. The Alternator bulb must have a certain resistance that these LED's simply do not have to do the job of providing the correct circuit to only illuminate the ALT light when it is in trouble. If you replace the ALT bulb with one of these LED's then it will illuminate all the time. Ask me how I know.
If you use "landscape" bulbs from China, then you should test polarity to insure you don't have to do twice. IF you buy a well designed and instruction kit like Bill's you will be miles ahead , especially if choosing the Elite series that may be unidirectional bulbs. Nice think is he can talk to you! If you buy cheap "landscape" bulbs from Amazon/Walmart you need to test so you know polarity , so you don't have to do twice. If you buy a dedicated kit, with great instructions and unidirectional bulbs , like Bill's Elite series then you will be miles ahead. https://www.hipoparts.com/1961-79-fo...nversion-kits/
