Does the 2020 show when it goes into regen on the dash like my 2012? I have never seen any indication that it has did a regen in the 5800 miles that I have driven it. Also I used Forscan to have it display the % full of the DPF and it has never come off of zero. Dealer is going to look at it Monday when I bring it in for them to throw more parts at my on going electrical issues.
I have not seen any indication of regen on my new 2020 F450, but I have used maybe 25% of my DEF, so clearly it has done regen in the first 1000 miles of driving.
I had to turn it on using Forscan on my 2020. It will then show up under the maintance window as to the % of of DPF filter, when in regen it foes down about 5% a minute plus you can smell it. I also enabled Manual Regen so I didn't have to drive around for 20 minutes while the regen completes.
I have a 20 with 1300 miles and have not noticed a regen yet. I do a mix of towing on highway and city and empty highway and city, long trips and short trips.
Like many here... I know the system is suppose to do a regen every 500 miles. I currently have 2300 on mine and just experienced a regen in the last 100 miles. The only way I noticed a regen was happening, is when my MPG were going down and the truck stayed in 9th gear when usually along the same route, it drops into 10th. When I arrived home, I could smell (for the first time) a regen happend or is happening. Don't know if the regen finished or not. I'm one wanting to know everything going on with the truck so I may have to turn something on to indicate a regen.
The only way I know my truck is doing a regen is by watching the exhaust temps on my Torque phone app that's bluetoothed to the truck. Exhaust sensors 13 and 14 will show around 1100 degrees during a regen. Otherwise they go no higher than about 800 degrees, even while towing up hills.
