Just curious if anybody would recommend any round LED headlights for a 78' F100. I think I'm ready to make the switch from halogens. I've been looking around and there are a lot of options so I'm trying to narrow down the possibilities with your guys' help. Also, any tips on what I may need to do to prep my pickup for LEDs. Thank you in advance.
Although there are now many cheaper options, I have been running the Truck-Lite brand for about 5 years in my 1973.
Fantastic beam spread and low beam cutoff with a very low current draw. I've purchased three sets over the years for vehicles (two round and one rectangular) and love them. However, they do not make any heat to speak of so if you drive in snowy conditions, they WILL get covered and become useless.
I have no experience with the round J.W. Speaker brand but I have put a couple sets of the heated rectangle ones in my employer's LT9500 plow trucks with fantastic results....but they are UGLY!
I have the GE version of truck-lites (made by truck-lite). The standard light it not quite as good as my 2011 commuter car with halogens but the brights are way better. They make driving the truck at night not a chore. Definitely worth the money.
I've purchased from Vintage Car LEDS not for the truck but for other classic applications. Worth considering if you like a light that has more of a classic appearance lens design that goes better with old vehicles vs the ultramodern look. https://vintagecarleds.com/?make=100...ion=vpf-search
