Hello!
I have a 97 F250HD with the 5.8, manual shift 4wd and E4OD. I am having the same problem that I saw in another thread but for some reason I can not seem to pull it back up. The truck shifts through the gears very fast bucking and almost stalling each time it shifts. If I manually shift it performs as it should. I removed the plug from the selector switch on the transfer case and test drove. It is still shifting fast but now only stutters once between shifts. I Ohm'd out the wires, LB showed 10.5 and LB/BK showed 2.63. I obviously have a short to ground somewhere.
I was wondering if anyone has had the same readings and might be able to point me in the right direction before I start tracing wiring etc... I think it's weird that both are showing a reading. Thanks!
What resistance do you measure from each wire to ground? And each wire to power? Before measuring this disconnect the harness at the PCM and at the transfer case.
Hello Mark!
I unplugged the switch at the transfer case and ohm'd to ground. The light blue wire read 10.5 and the light blue/black stripe wire read 2.63. I did not disconnect the computer for this test. I will do so today and get back to you as well as a power reading. Thanks
With the computer still plugged in, I have no idea if that's right or wrong. You would have been better off cleaning the windows than running that test. At least that way the windows would be clean. All you have now is useless information.
