Carburetor?
I have a 1973 f-350 with a 390. The guy before me put a edelbrock intake and carb on it. I just finished a rebuild on the card and go to start it up and it won’t idle. It idles real rough then dies. If I rev it up it hesitates then sounds like it back fires. I had no extra parts and thought I did everything right. Where did I go wrong?

Take a pic of it so we can see the choke plate cold.
Turn the idle mixture screws (gently) all the way in and then two turns out. If it runs at that point, adjust the two screws a 1/4 at a time until you get your highest idle.

‘thanks. Pulled the screws out and sprayed carb clean in the holes then set the screws 1-1/2 turns. Idles once again. There was junk on the idle screw tips.
