I have a 2000 ford 150 with 5.4L, auto. I have power everywhere. My battery is good and so are all my fuses. When I try to start it nothing happens. It doesn't even turn over. I have no power to my coil on my starter. I tried moving the steering wheel, shifter, key switch, and nothing. I know there are some modules in the truck I was wondering if this could be the problem? And if so which ones? Can you help?
It could be, You haven't used a key without the chip in it have you? The computer must see this before it will allow it to crank.
You have no power to the small wire on the solenoid when in the crank position, you say?
Jimmy
The truck should still crank but not start if you have a bad key or PATS problem.
Check fuse 21 under the dash and see if it's good.
If it is then I would check for power at the solenoid/relay on the firewall near the battery, both at the main terminal from the battery and at the small terminal when the key is in the start position.
