I was timing my engine and I had the breaker bar and socket on the harmonic bolt to set it to TDC. My helper bumped the motor and the breaker bar loosened the bolt. I don't know if the balancer rotated on the shaft or not. I tightened it back up as much as I could by holding the pulley. I went ahead and went through the normal process to time it and it seems to be running fine and no codes. Not sure but I think I hear a slight lifter noise which was previously not heard. I would assume I need to torque the bolt and I don't have the torque specs. Also is there anything I can check to see if the balancer is if fact not rotated affecting my timing? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Sandy
70-90 ft.lb. keep an eye out for oil leak(sling out around crank pulley) depending on how loose it got, instructions say to smear a blob(small), of RTV on end of crank shaft, where woodruff key slot is, before putting bolt in and tightening, supposed to help keep oil oozing out slot.

Great info. Thanks so much. I'll check it out before I torque it. Sandy

I pulled a balancer (that had never been off) yesterday & saw black RTV and had an "oh ****" moment. It was under the washer, not on the key.
The only other time I'd seen it, I thought it was somebody's hack fix.
I didn't seal mine when rebuilt a few years back, but so far so good.
