4v heads on 2v block??

For the 5.4 and 4.6, do the 4valve and 2 valve motors use the same block? if so, it would seem that the heads should be swappable. what kind of other junk would have to be changed over with the heads? i assume the intakes and headers are probably different, but any others? I'm not planning on doing this anytime, just looking towards the future.

I'm sure that the timing chain covers and other things would be different as well. I would think that the pistons would also be different due to the head combustion chambers being shaped different.

Heads are interchangable between the 5.4's and 4.6's.....they are the same heads anyways. Problem comes in is while the 4.6 and 5.4 engines share the same block architecture.....the 5.4's have a much taller deck height.

Once again , I'm not sure on the 2V to 4V conversion.
Yes the 4.6 and 5.4 use the same head, the blocke are different. The 5.4 is taller and wider than the 4.6.
You might look up head gaskets for both and see if the 4v and 2v Heads use the same part number.
