Hey guys i am looking for some help. I have a 2003 F-250 with the 6.0. Will not start, worked on these engines for years but this one has me stumped. Truck was running fine. Got in it one morning and would not start, and it has no codes. below is what i have checked and done:
Changed fuel filters added fuel checked oil level replaced batteries Replaced IPR pigtail Changed IPR Electric fuel pump has 49 psi up top no air inlet restrictions Scan tool shows the following no codes, passes inj buzz test FICM is 48 volts RPM 177 ICP pressure shows 1500 plus pulse width 2.2 FICM sync yes IPR 15 goes to 48 Oil Pressure gauge goes up while cranking Shows crank and cam signal engine turns over great, have tried wiggling crank sensor and cam sensor harness, pulled IPR and checked screen, checked IPR with OHM meter it shows 6 ohms, tried another IPR, unplugged ICP. Engine had new Ford HPOP installed less than 10,000 miles ago, FICM has been replaced, and all the other goodies done to it. Please any suggestions would be welcomed at this point.
49 is pretty low for fuel pressure at the bowl. Are you getting any bubbles in the fuel bowl with the cap off? The HFCM filter o ring can leak air if not seated. Motorcraft fuel filters?
Yes i installed motor craft filters. I checked the pressure before and after filter change. Pressure stayed the same, i did pull the cap off before changing filters and didn't see any signs of air. On a side not a couple days after filter change a doing some other tests the truck did start and ran about an hour. i shut it off and it hasn't started back since.
