Rear leaf spring
so my son a master mechanic fixed the first spring that broke had my truck for a month n half had a lot of problems getting sping to line up said had to use a tool similar to jaws of life.
I did a search here for a how to but not finding on our years truck. But im new.
if anyone can put up a link to other threads would be nice.

Basically you:
Jack up the rear. Support on tall jack stands. The stands have to be placed on the frame so that the rear axle can hang there. Place the jack under the axle so you can raise and lower the axle as needed to remove/ install the bolts Remove tires, u-bolts and the front and rear spring eye bolts. It may be easier to remove the shackle bolt. Good luck getting those bolts out. I have always had to cut them out with a combination of cutoff wheel, angle grinder and reciprocating saw. Install new u- bolts, shackle(?) and spring bolts. Torque to spec with the weight of the vehicle on the springs.
