Hey everyone, I have been on the hunt for a grille shell for the 78-79 model and I can't really bring myself to spend $500+ to get one off LMC. Anyone know of a place to look at? Potential parts trucks? Preferably in Texas or an order that isn't $500? Thanks.
I can't let you in good faith let you spend that kind of $ for a grill shell from LMC either. So I'll just say...DO NOT DO IT. YOu will regret it 100 times over. Now if you just have to spend that kind of $$, do it at Dennis Carpenter and get a way better fit, better material, and overall quality.
I am sure someone in Texas has one they are willing to part with.
When it comes time to take it off, take the fender side marker light lens off to get able to get to the very upper corner bolts. The bolt head is on the back side of the core support.
Thanks for the tips. It doesn't even have to be in perfect mint condition either; a few dings or scratches here and there doesn't bother me. Just needs to fit properly. The original one was mangled beyond repair from hitting stuff (it was a farm truck). I'm not exactly trying to restore the truck just trying to make it look decent and pass inspection haha
