How would you approach repairing this rust hole?
Morning all!
I was cleaning up the underside of my '88 F250 with a wire wheel, when I found a few rust holes under the front driver's side floor up against the rocker. Fore reference in the photo, the front of the truck is to the right. The self-tapper poking through is the front sill plate screw.
My goals are basically to do a 'quick and easy' fix to halt the damage as much as possible now, with a more permanent fix in the spring.
My initial thought is to grind this all down with a wire wheel, plug the holes with JB weld, throw rust converter on it, then prime, paint and fluid film. Then do whatever metal replacement is needed in the spring.
I'm curious how others would deal with this, both short-term and long-term. Also, does anyone have a good diagram showing how the various body paels come together here?
