Does anyone know what the approximate crush rating is for the bedsides of 2017-2019 super duty's?
I have a diamondback cover and the most I've put on top of it is about 1000 lbs. I'm looking at putting both quads on top which will total just under 1600 lbs.
The cover is rated for 1600 lbs and I know guys that have put more weight on but not on an aluminum bed. My concern is the strength of the aluminum bed sides.
Well, for reasons too embarrassing to talk about, I had 3000 lbs on the back half of the bed rails. The only damage were scratchs on the bed rail covers.
aww, yes, unhook pull forward but not enough....then hit the auto level and it comes down, you race to the console to shut it off, but a little too late.
It was. Released the hitch the trailer rolled back and crashed on the bed rails.

That's always been a concern of mine when unhitching. The first thing I do in my process of unhitching is chock the trailer wheels in both directions. I see people unhitching all the time without chocking the trailer wheels.
