Could someone send me the pages that talk about what the oil level should be on the Dana M275 or they might call it the 10.8 inch axle? It doesn't say in the owners manual and I am getting conflicting information. Some say fill until it runs out the fill plug hole and some say it should be like a 1/2 to 3/4 inch below the hole. I always thought to fill up to the hole but on my dodge with a Dana 80 it says 3/4 + or - a 1/4 below the hole, so I'm not sure on this one. once again this is for the Dana M275, not the 10.5 sterling axle.

Thank you! Are you sure that is for the M275 and not the M300? That looks quite a bit beefier than mine.

It was under the M275 section. Yours has 14 bolts right? It says the same thing for the M275, M300 and Sterling axle, level with the fill plug.

Yes, mine has 14 bolts but I think the M300 does too from what I was able to find. That picture definitely looks a little different than mine but It doesn't really matter if you are sure it says to fill level with the plug for all 3 axles. Thank you for taking the time to help me and for double checking for me, I really appreciate it!!

The picture looks the same for both Dana axles but yes it says to fill level with the plug on all 3. Honestly I thought this was the norm on all axles?

Thats what I used to think, until my Dodge which is a 99 with a Dana 80 in the rear, which says 3/4 + or - a 1/4 below the fill plug. Then I got to doing some research and found that some do recommend it being below the hole a little to prevent foaming and possible overheating. I don't know why some recommend one way and some another.

I will say that my Ford did come from the factory at least a 1/2 inch below the hole, thats a big reason as to why I was curious. But honestly you would think it would say in the owners manual.
