Do all newer Superduty trucks (F250, F350) come with the oem brake controller or is it part of a package option or an option itself. Looking at dealer inventory at trucks and a couple of them are almost like I would order but just have stock images so can't confirm they have it and don't want to talk to a salesperson at dealership.... yet.
I had a 2014 F250 that didn't come with the brake controller. I ordered an an OEM and had the local dealership use the computer to activate it. It won't work until the the computer is updated. I could have put an off the shelf brake controller in without getting the dealer involved but wanted the clean look of OEM.
That being said I was never happy with the oem brake controller.
FWIW, My daughters 2018 Expedition, w/tow pkg, did not come with the OE brake controller (figure that out). I purchased an OE controller on line, installed it (took about 45 minutes), and activated it with ForScan.
By the time you deal with jacking with “negotiating” the install at purchase you probably could get forscan and a controller off ebay for around $100.
Just saying that brake controller is gonna be a huge deal at most dealers. 20 trips to talk to the sales manager, $1500 quote from the service department, having you look at other trucks, minor aggravation from the sales guy etc..

All the Expeditions come factory with the base light duty tow package. The brake controller isn't included without the heavy duty tow package (536).
