Missing piece?
Hello all, I'm currently working on an Engine swap in my 1986 F250. I'm placing this thread in the 87-96 forum because I'm swapping in an EFI 4.9L and converting to mass-air in the process. My donor engine came out of a late 80's Ford truck, all electrical components are there, but the wiring harness was cut when the junkyard removed it from its last vehicle. My buddy had a spare wiring harness from a 1996 4.9 that he converted to carb and placed in a dentside. This harness is completely uncut, but it has a large square plug where I would expect a rectangular plug to go into the PCM. Is it missing a pigtail for the firewall, or something similar? I would like to use this setup, just need to know what I need to make it work. I'm really hoping to keep EFI, and Mass air would be great if I can make it work.
I know converting the engine to carbureted would be easier. But as the truck is already EFI, I'd like to keep it that way.
