Distributor swap for flathead six

does anyone know or remember an old hot riding trick of a distributor swap between Chrysler and Ford flathead six cylinder motors?

I don't know the trick, but have to ask: what is wrong with the factory distributor? Usually they work quite well.

If I needed a distributor upgrade that wasn’t readily available, I’d have one made. I’d use a Chevy 250 inline 6 HEI
Have a machine shop cut them both in half and install the hei on top of the 226
Use the drive and lower portion of the 226 dist. Upper hei shaft/dist
